Professor Allen Chan Receives the Lo Ying Shek Chi Wai Foundation Meritorious Research Award
Professor Allen Kwan Chee CHAN from the Faculty of Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has received “Lo Ying Shek Chi Wai Foundation Meritorious Research Award” and being conferred as the Inaugural Lo Ying Shek Chi Wai Foundation Scholar.
Professor Chan is world-renowned for his landmark study which demonstrated that plasma Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA analysis is useful for screening early asymptomatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). This study was published and chosen by The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) as one of the most notable articles of 2017.
About the Lo Ying Shek Chi Wai Foundation Meritorious Research Award
The Award was established by the Lo Ying Shek Chi Wai Foundation in 2018 with an aim of recognising selected young clinician scientists who have achieved excellence in medical research output with publications in top tier reputable medical journals.
